The Castle Park Pillnitz
As the former summer residence of the Saxon kings and electors, Pillnitz Palace Park with its 230-year-old camellia is now one of Saxony's most famous attractions. Based on a concept by the designers at Studio Gourdin and the architects at Woltereck Fitzner Architekten, we produced a new signage system for the park in 2024 on behalf of the state-owned company Sächsisches Immobilien- und Baumangement SIB. The focus of the project was on enamelled lava stone panels with a matt surface. These were additionally sandblasted, highlighting individual elements both visually and haptically. Complemented by 3D elements, the resulting orientation table in particular is a truly tactile experience, and the other elements, including enamelled aluminium pictograms, wall signs, display cases and steles, also give the park a new look.
